In the first 30 days of a redesigned LinkedIn & email sequence targeting construction business owners, 303 decision-makers were contacted, 29% accepted the connection request, and 16 replied or said they were interested — and the campaign is still running.
Most cold outreach sounds the same — "I hope this finds you well," "we specialise in," a vague question nobody wants to answer. It reads like a template because it is one, and people have learned to skim past it.
A few weeks ago I rewrote my own outreach from scratch: shorter sentences, contractions, a direct offer instead of an open-ended question, and "I" instead of "we" — since it's just me doing the work. This case study is what happened when I pointed that rewritten sequence at construction business owners across Australia.

Two things: more replies, and better replies — not just people accepting a connection request and going quiet. I also wanted real numbers to point to before rolling the same approach out to other industries.
The offer stayed simple and low-pressure throughout: a free AI-generated website redesign concept, no cost, no catch, built only after someone said yes. No link in the first message, no long pitch — just an offer worth a two-second "sure, send it over."

Every message went through the same filter: would I actually send this to someone, or does it read like a marketing template? "How are you handling this now?" became a direct, specific offer. "We're doing X" became "I've been playing around with X."
I've done real work for builders people recognise — Eden Brae Homes, Champion Homes, Deicorp — so I mentioned that once, early, instead of repeating it at every touchpoint.
LinkedIn invite → thank-you message → offer email → profile visit → gentle nudge → follow-up email → soft close. Every step after the offer assumes "no" is a fine answer — "no pressure," "all good if it's not the right time" — because chasing people who've gone quiet is exactly the corporate energy this was meant to remove.

Gojiberry campaign logs · Aug 22–Sep 22, 2026 (30 days)
29% of invites were accepted — solid for cold LinkedIn outreach to Managing Directors and Founders. 303 decision-makers were contacted directly across builders, construction management firms, and trade businesses around Australia. 16 replied or actively said they were interested.
This is a 30-day snapshot of a campaign that's still running — 126 contacts haven't reached the later steps of the sequence yet, so these numbers are a floor, not the final count.
Want the same for your outreach? Let's talk about what's actually landing vs what's getting ignored.
